In October wildlife photographer Matthew Maran, whose self-published book ‘Hampstead Heath, London’s Countryside‘ I produced, spoke at the Wildscreen photography festival in Bristol.

His session was about turning photographic work into publishing in book form. Matt and I discussed the process, and more besides, at greater length the day before. Matt recorded the conversation and it’s now available as the first in a series of Podcasts available on his website and iTunes.

We tried to cover various aspects of what it takes to make a high quality photographic book outside of the traditional publishing model as well as discussing the freelance life in general.
